What Is Epic?

Epic is a cloud-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. It is used across a broad range of practices, from community health centers, hospitals, to independent practices and specialties.

Epic has a strong focus on patient engagement and facilitating remote care. Epic EHR features include a robust patient portal called MyChart that will give you access to your health record in an easy-to-use portal. MyChart is available online and as an app for both Android and iOS operating systems.

Beginning September 27th, we will begin our transition to Epic. During this time, you may experience longer wait times. We appreciate your patience with our staff during this transition period.

MyChart: Your New Patient Portal

MyChart, your new patient portal, gives you online access and control of your medical record. Available to all patients 12 and older. Within MyChart* you will have access to:

  • Manage upcoming appointments
  • View prescriptions and request refills
  • Communicate with your doctor
  • Access to labs and test results
  • Track immunizations
  • Pay bills online
  • And more!

Q: Will this impact my patient care?
A: No. Patient care is our number one focus. This move to the new system is to continue to best serve you.

Q: Will this affect the security of my health records?
A: Your privacy and security of your records is a top priority. Epic is used nationally and internationally as the EHR system for renowned health organizations.

Q: Is there a charge for MyChart?
A: No. MyChart is a free service offered by Gardner Health Services.

Q: What else should I know about this system change?
A: During this transition, our staff will be adjusting to this new system. There may be a delay in patient access to appointments due to schedule adjustments and longer wait times when you arrive for your appointment. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to keep this wait time to a minimum.

Q: How can I update my email address or any other personal information?
A: To update your email address, phone number or any other personal information, go to the MyChart website, log into your MyChart account, go to “Settings”, select “Personal Information”, scroll down and select the “Edit” button and update your information.
